Homeland Defense 3 Homeland Defense - MTSI supports the Department of Homeland Security in its mission to protect our nation from acts of terrorism. We work with Customs and Border Protection in fielding and upgrading the capabilities of its growing fleet of unmanned aircraft that patrol our borders, with the U.S. Coast Guard in matching the “best-fit” aviation capabilities to its new fleet of Deepwater System cutters, and with DHS’ Science & Technology Directorate in evaluating and helping mature the latest technologies in wide area surveillance.
