MTSI-Dayton volunteers with the Hope Foundation3rd December 2010; Dayton, OH![]() The MTSI-Dayton Office has partnered with the Hope Foundation to provide financial and volunteer support for the foundation's mission of serving needy families in the Dayton area. At the first volunteer session, MTSI joined the Hope Foundation for one of its largest packaging nights – assembling bags for 264 households, all of which were distributed in downtown Dayton the very next morning. The MTSI team also supported the foundation with a donation to help stock the food pantry. The Hope Foundation works with the Food Bank of Dayton and donors to supply meals to poor, hungry families in Dayton, Fairborn, Huber Heights, and the surrounding area. The mobile food pantry, the Hope Foundation's largest endeavor, strives to reach as many people in need as possible. Each week, a truck is carefully packed with pre-selected, balanced food packages, complete with suggested meal plans and recipes to encourage planning and creative cooking to stretch tight food dollars. With the help of volunteers and donors, the Hope Foundation of Greater Dayton distributes 2,000 to 3,400 lbs. of food every week to families in the local community. Although the primary focus of the Hope Foundation is to provide food to people in need, the foundation is also exploring possibilities to sponsor youth sports leagues, educational camps, and adult job training. These programs aim to build a stronger foundation for the poor families in the community while providing hope for a better tomorrow. MTSI Supports Fisher-Nightingale Houses19th October 2010; Dayon, OH![]() MTSI continued its support of the Fisher-Nightingale Houses with a second annual donation to the Wright-Patterson AFB Fisher Houses. These houses, part of a worldwide network of compassionate care facilities, help military service men and women undergoing medical treatment by providing lodging and support to patients and their families. Zachary and Elizabeth Fisher, long-time supporters of America's Armed Forces, dedicated a foundation intended to assist military families during medical emergencies and times of crisis. In 1990, the Fishers devoted a portion of the foundation's resources to the construction of compassionate care houses. Wright-Patterson joined the Fisher vision in May of 1994, with the donation of the first Fisher House. While the Fisher Foundation typically finances the facility construction, the Houses rely on fund raising events and donations for their operating budgets. Today, there are 45 Fisher Houses in 33 locations across the world. In 2009, the Wright-Patterson AFB Fisher Houses assisted more than 500 Air Force, Army, Navy and Marines and their families!
