In October 2013, MTSI realized a significant achievement with its contract award to provide remote-access requirements traceability using its Knowledge Commander system to the USAF KC-46 Aircrew and Maintenance Training Systems programs (ATS/MTS), located at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio.
This contract grew from an MTSI IR&D project that provided the funding needed to establish the necessary infrastructure and prove the remote access capability concept. Once proven, it was chosen by the KC-46 ATS and MTS program as a way to manage their requirements development and provide insight via traceability.
The KC-46 is the USAF’s new tanker platform and has been the Air Force’s number one acquisition priority. It was important to the training programs that they have a system in place to ensure their systems requirements were met for this important acquisition program. The MTSI Knowledge Commander remote system provides this capability.
This initial contract award supports both KC-46 training programs for up to the next four years.
