Tim King is the vice president and lead of the Army and Missile Defense Division and is the site lead for the Huntsville office. Tim is responsible for overall management and execution of the aviation and missile systems team located in MTSI’s Huntsville, Alexandria, Dahlgren, and Colorado Springs locations. As Huntsville office site lead, Tim is responsible for operations and management of that office location.
With over 25 years of experience working in the defense industry, Tim has a career background providing systems engineering, software engineering, and program management support to missile defense, tactical missiles, and air-to-surface weapons. He has also served as a senior systems engineer in the Joint Attack Munition Systems (JAMS) Project Office, responsible for providing systems and software engineering support to several missile and launcher programs.
Prior to Tim joining MTSI in 2008, he was responsible for a $32M business unit providing software/systems engineering expertise to a variety of DoD customers including RDECOM, AMCOM, MDA, SMDC, and USAF. He managed and executed the AMCOM EXPRESS Battlefield Automated Systems Engineering Support (BASES) task order at the AMRDEC Software Engineering Directorate (SED).
Tim received a B.S. and M.S. in mechanical engineering from the University of Alabama and an M.S. in electrical engineering from Southern Methodist University.
