MECH Spotlight: Meghan Robertson

At MTSI, our people are at the heart of everything we do, and the MTSI Early Career Hub (MECH) helps foster connection, engagement, and professional growth across our employee-owner community. In this MECH Spotlight, Meghan Robertson shares how she is helping build a strong culture of collaboration and employee engagement in Colorado Springs while supporting MTSI’s continued growth and success.
1. Tell us a little about yourself – What’s your role at MTSI, and what team or project are you currently supporting?
My name is Meghan Robertson, I joined MTSI in February of 2025 as an HR Business Partner – Senior at our Colorado Springs office. This is the third DoD contractor I have worked for, and MTSI has exceeded my expectations in every area as an employee-owner.
2. What’s your favorite part of MTSI’s culture?
MTSI’s culture is truly unique within the industry, and that distinction is even more evident at the local level. The Colorado Springs office exemplifies a collaborative, mission-focused environment where employees genuinely enjoy what they do, value the people they work alongside, and are committed to delivering exceptional results for our customers. Despite MTSI’s continued growth and success, the organization maintains the culture and camaraderie of a smaller company where employees are known, supported, and empowered.
3. How are you involved in MECH?
I currently co-lead MECH in Colorado Springs alongside Jonathan Garcia. Together, we develop opportunities for employees to connect through social events, volunteer activities, and networking engagements with local leadership. Since launching MECH in Colorado Springs last year, we have focused on expanding membership, increasing visibility, and creating meaningful opportunities for employee engagement locally.
4. How has MTSI supported your growth as an early-career professional?
My goal is to build a long-term career with MTSI and look forward to growing alongside the organization throughout my professional journey. The support I receive from my team, local leadership, and fellow employee-owners is exceptional and unlike anything I have experienced elsewhere. MTSI has provided me with the opportunity to serve as the first HR representative on the West Coast, helping establish a foundation for employee-focused initiatives and focus groups such as MECH, PLEDGE (Quarterly Managers Meetings), Employees First, Drinks Second (Quarterly Happy Hour), and others. I have been entrusted with significant ownership and autonomy in my role, allowing me to make meaningful contributions while fostering strong partnerships with employees and leaders across the organization.
5. What advice would you give to someone just starting their career at MTSI?
For those beginning their careers at MTSI, my advice is to take full advantage of the many resources available. Whether through IDPs, networking opportunities, focus groups, Communities of Practice, mentorship programs, or leadership development initiatives, there are countless avenues for personal and professional growth. MTSI offers the unique opportunity to develop your career while sharing ownership in a company that continues to thrive and expand. The company’s recognition as a Best Place to Work is well deserved, and the caliber of people who work here is truly outstanding.
