John Mikal Selected as MTSI Edwards Air Force Base Lead

May 3, 2016

John Mikal has been selected to be the next Site Lead for MTSI’s operation at Edwards Air Force Base.  John is a Test Pilot School graduate and currently supports the Global Hawk test program as a Test Director.  John also serves in the Air Force Reserve as a Lieutenant Colonel.  Among other duties in the Reserve, John is a KC-46A test pilot, helping execute the test program for this high priority modernization effort of the Air Force tanker fleet.

John was selected in a competitive process from multiple internal MTSI candidates who applied for the Edwards position. This opportunity became available when MTSI promoted Don Blanton from the Edwards Site Lead role to become Director of DSD’s Flight Test Business Unit. During his tenure leading the MTSI Edwards operation, Don was successful in establishing MTSI as a quality service provider of flight test support expertise at Edwards, growing the MTSI presence from 2 to 28 employees over the last several years.
