MTSI Attends the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) Cybersecurity Engineering and Business Development teamed up to attend the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE) in Dayton, Ohio on November 7-8, 2017. This conference focused on Cybersecurity Education, Training, and collaboration between industry, government, and academia. These organizations are looking for ways to leverage the experiences, establish degree programs, and partner with commercial and government industry for jobs, security awareness and training, and protection of US-based critical infrastructure.
The team consisted of employees from across MTSI which includes Dr. Robert B. Batie, Alexandria,VA; Kristen Christy and Dr. Michael Garrity from Colorado Springs, CO; and Dr. John Carls, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, OH. They spoke with the conference attendees and shared MTSI’s core expertise and vision for cybersecurity-related activities for employee career development. The team collected resumes and contact information, talked with university and college professors interested in establishing internships and partnerships with MTSI, and explained the educational needs for the employee-to-industry pipeline. A follow up meeting is scheduled to discuss the lessons-learned from the conference, develop a strategy for future Cybersecurity-related activities, and move forward with an Internship program in Cybersecurity.
