Required services and tasks include conducting studies to identify new capabilities; transition laboratory technologies to operational platforms; execute demonstrations; and develop, test, and rapidly field new capabilities for the warfighter. Other RDT&E work efforts include operational concept exploration; technology studies, assessments and development; operational and system architecture development; and maturation and risk reduction (including experimentation, integration, and prototyping) of identified technology candidates.
