MTSI Wins New Air Force Research Lab ISR Contract

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) was recently awarded a new Air Force Research Lab (AFRL) contract for the Rapid Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) Technology Integration Program. This award has been obligated through the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) III program, and is expected to be completed by Sept. 17, 2019.

This four year, $24.9 million contract will help extend the sensor resource management system developed in a Phase I SBIR for the Missile Defense Agency. This MTSI-developed sensor system will be applied to the integration of air, ground and space sensor systems and associated platforms to provide ISR data products.

MTSI has hired four employees to handle the additional work under the small business, sole-source contract which runs through 2019. MTSI’s Defense Services Division Vice President, Scott Coale stated, “We’re optimistic that if we’re successful with this program that it will result in continued growth for us.”

The company will conduct research in Dayton region, Colorado Springs, CO region, and Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M. Most of the anticipated work will be in the local Dayton area. MTSI has 80 employees supporting various customers in Dayton.
