Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division Awards MTSI Contract

Modern Technology Solutions Inc. (MTSI) was recently awarded a Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee Task Order to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD).  Valued over $8 million, this five (5) year Task Order represents the largest SeaPort-e prime contract award in company history.  This is a technical performance contract designed to support the NSWCDD, in alliance with the Missile Defense Agency (MDA), in their mission to evaluate the lethality of kinetic energy weapons engaging threat ballistic missiles.  A key software product named the Kinetic Warhead Evaluation (KWEval) code will be further developed and maintained under this contract effort.  This product utilizes advanced modern computer software methods to solve complex algorithms in a closed form solution domain to compute the interaction physics of direct hit and blast/fragmentation missile interceptors impacting targets in hypervelocity space.  The closed form solution domain allows the KWEval product to solve millions of engagement scenarios in short timeframes on a personal computer. It is designed to facilitate Windows and Linux based operating systems and has parallel processing features designed for distributed processing.  It will be used extensively by Government and Industry partners to advance the state of the art in anti-ballistic missile technology for future US systems.
